Collection: Taiga Takashi
Taiga Takashi is a label based between New York and Kyoto, dedicated to creating clothing as artifacts. The brand resurrects vintage American workwear, military uniforms and tailoring from the 1910s through the 1950s: researched, reconstructed and reinterpreted through a philosophy Takashi described as "cultivating humanity."
Each piece is built around timeless, archival-inspired design, with an emphasis on the construction, fabrics and silhouettes of the early 20th century. The collection draws as much from traditional Japanese craftsmanship as it does from its American references, with garments often dyed using natural processes and made with materials selected to age and develop character over time.
The result is clothing that sits between historical document and modern wardrobe staple, pieces that carry the weight of their references while remaining wearable, considered and quietly distinctive.
