Founded in 2022 by Detroit-born designer Carter Altman, Carter Young is a New York and London based label offering unisex apparel rooted in what the brand calls "New Americana." Drawing on Midwest culture, American cinema and vintage references, the collection re-contextualises classic American archetypes through tailoring, western shirting and high quality denim made in the USA.
The production is small scale, with an emphasis on natural fibres and deadstock materials. The pieces are built to be worn in, denim designed to break in over time, tailoring cut for everyday wear and shirts with a relaxed, lived-in feel.
